Brown & Martin was established in September of 1975 by partners: Pringle Boyle, L. W. “Red” Brown, and L. E. Martin. All men were former employees of Boyle Construction Co., Inc. of Sumter. The company began work asphalting and concreting driveways. As the company grew, Brown & Martin Company began installing sewer lines, water lines and storm drainage.
Charles H. Holladay joined Brown & Martin in 1979. That same year the company was incorporated. We also became licensed in building contracting and our workforce peaked at 50 employees.
Today, L. E. Martin, is the only surviving partner. He now shares ownership of the corporation with his two daughters, Ginger and Rhonda.
We are licensed in Sewer & Water lines and highway (Roads), SC classification in Group #3 -- Unlimited. We now average 25 to 30 employees.
